Service Offering Details
Clowdy’s Database Backup and Restore service provides secure, scalable, and automated backup and disaster recovery capabilities for databases running on AWS. This includes scheduled backups, and seamless restoration to minimise data loss and downtime. Leveraging services like AWS RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon S3, AWS Backup, and AWS Lambda, our solution is built to support compliance, governance, and business continuity objectives. Whether it’s backing up production workloads or restoring archived data in the event of failure, this offering ensures business-critical databases remain protected and recoverable.
Target Customer Profile
- Mid-size to large enterprises running mission-critical applications with regulatory requirements for data retention and recovery.
- Financial services and healthcare providers needing secure, auditable, and encrypted backup systems for compliance with data protection laws.
- E-commerce platforms, SaaS providers, and BPOs that cannot afford downtime or data loss and need fast, automated backup and restore workflows.
- IT teams migrating from legacy on-prem databases to AWS seeking a managed backup strategy as part of their modernisation roadmap.
Customer Engagement and Disaster Delivery Mechanism
- Discovery Call: We conduct an initial discovery session to understand the client’s existing database architecture, RTO/RPO needs, compliance obligations, and pain points.
- Design & Architecture: We architect a backup and restore strategy using AWS-native tools tailored to the client’s workloads. This includes data classification, backup frequency, storage tiering, and retention policies.
- Statement of Work (SoW): A formal SoW outlining scope, timeline, deliverables, pricing, and resource plan is submitted for client approval and, if applicable, AWS APN funding submission (in progress).
- Implementation & Handover: Clowdy configures the backup system, tests restore processes, and provides operational documentation and handover to client teams or transitions to a managed service.
- Optional Managed Service: Clients may opt-in for ongoing monitoring, regular audit reports, incident response, and continuous optimisation under a managed services retainer.
